The project comprised the demolition of several garages and light industrial units and construction of 5 contemporary townhouses in the heart of Cheltenham.
Evans Jones advised on the building survey and application of the Party Wall Act, served notices to the 24 adjoining ‘owners’, prepared Party Wall Awards and issued scaffold notices to secure access to neighbouring properties where the Party Wall Act did not apply. As many neighbours did not respond we then used our powers under the Act to proceed ‘ex parte’ to allow progress of the development and issued Awards in good time to prevent delay.
As a result of our advice, our client proceeded with works in a very confined environment without delay and with the cooperation of neighbours.
