The scheme was originally refused for a wide range of reasons including matters of design, amenity and the impact on the neighbouring Conservation Area.
The nature of the earlier refusal required Evans Jones to undertake a detailed assessment in respect of heritage and local character to demonstrate the acceptability of the scheme.
By providing proactive advice and adopting a conscientious approach to understanding the site’s context, Evans Jones addressed the key issues, identified in the Council’s earlier reasons for refusal. As a result, the inspector found the case compelling and the development acceptable with planning premission granted.
