Evans Jones were appointed by their client to submit a full planning application for a scheme of 6 brand new one-bedroom apartments together with associated landscaping, access, parking and storage space. The site in question comprised a triangular piece of land in an urban area of Swindon.
The site is located centrally within Swindon where there is considerable pressure on parking availability. Furthermore, adjacent the site was a large tree which had implications for the construction of the development. Evans Jones ensured that the design of the proposal provided a policy compliant level of onsite parking and that appropriate arboricultural justification was submitted.
Evans Jones successfully secured planning consent on behalf of their client by presenting convincing information in support of the scheme. The permission was granted by way of a majority of councillor votes.
The new residential units go some way towards helping to address the dire housing need in the area which is sub 3 years.
