Planning permission was refused for a number of reasons including that the building was not of substantial construction.
The client had previously been refused planning permission to convert the outbuilding, as it is located within the statutory green belt.
Our Building Surveying team were able to counter this argument by preparing a building survey to demonstrate that the building was structurally sound and capable of conversion.
The planning inspector agreed with our arguments and dismissed the council’s claims.
