The project was phased in 3 sections to allow the safe removal of existing asbestos cladding and to minimise the impact on the business as the warehouse and offices remained open throughout.
The method of working ensured that the external building fabric remained weather tight throughout.
The composite insulated cladding system, high proportion of roof lights and natural ventilation systems specified has resulted in a significant improvement in thermal performance, improved levels of user comfort within the warehouse and reduced heating and lighting costs. A fall protection system now allows the ongoing safe maintenance of the roof.
The project was delivered on time and below the negotiated contract value.
