Work starts on second phase of Cheltenham College Boarding House

As Cheltenham College's new girls' Boarding House opened its doors to boarders in September, work has begun on phase 2 of the project.

Number 2 College Lawn is a four-storey Regency building, located next door to the new boarding house and connected by an annex building to the rear.

Evans Jones have achieved planning and listed building consent for the change of use of the building to further girls accommodation for the boarding house  and work has started on site to make internal and external alterations.

The works include a complete refurbishment throughout, including restoration of the building's original architectural features.

Evans Jones are project managing the conversion of the building, from  the initial design phase through to managing the project through the Construction stages.

Beard Construction are the construction company carrying out the works on site.

Ian Eggleton Director of Building Consultancy at Evans Jones said: “The College Lawn buildings are quintessential Regency Villas and we are delighted with the high quality of boarding accommodation that has been provided from the first phase of the project. We are very much looking forward to the next phase and transforming Number 2 College Lawn into further accommodation that I’m sure the pupils, parents and staff of Cheltenham College will feel proud to call a home from home. ”
