Vacancy- Building surveyor

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our thriving Building Consultancy team. The successful candidate will both service our existing client base and be part of our ambitious growth plans. Working in all aspects of building surveying to; surveys, dilapidations, project work, party wall and much more. This role would be ideal for an APC candidate who is looking to broaden experience.

The Opportunity
Job Purpose and Scope
The Chartered Building Surveyor will be responsible for supporting and managing client projects to support the growth of the company. The role will involve project work, pre-acquisition surveys and dilapidation work, party wall consultancy, and fire reinstatement valuations in the commercial and residential sectors


Job Objectives

Financial
• Consistent delivery of personal fee targets contributing to the division target and income generation
• Assist and run projects where appropriate, including liaising with clients and client management.
• Preparing fee proposals for smaller projects.
• To be an ambassador for the company - attending networking events on and offline, growing genuine relationships with stakeholders.
 

People
• To proactively manage your own training needs in accordance with your Training Plan and CPD requirements Ensure that work undertaken by the team adheres to all company policies and processes.
• To work collaboratively within the Surveying team and across other sectors of the business as the need arises
• To support graduate members of staff. 
Customer
• Create and nurture professional, long term relationships with new and existing customers.
• In conjunction with our Marketing Manager develop your own social media presence to promote Evans Jones.

Person Specification- Knowledge

Essential 
• Professional Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS). First degree or MSc in Town Planning,
• Evidence of continual professional development.
• Technically proficient in the core BS disciplines: Dilapidations; Contract Admin; Surveys

Desirable 
• Experience of non-work-related complimentary activities professional /non-professional organisations, voluntary services 
• Basic understanding of Party Wall Surveying
 

Experience
Essential: 
• 6 months post qualification experience
• Experience of Dilapidations claims for small commercial properties
• Commercial Surveys up to £300k value 
• Contract admin of commercial projects up to £300k value Desirable:
• 1-2 years post qualification relevant experience.
• Experience of working remotely and in a physical office environment.
• Private practice client facing 
• Party Wall Work

Skills:
Essential: 
• Strong organisational and time management skills 
• Demonstrable interest in planning and an inquisitive mind.
• Self-motivated, using own initiative and able to see tasks through to a successful conclusion, including meeting challenging deadlines where necessary.
• Ability to be resourceful and able to research, gather and distribute information as necessary
• Full Driving Licence. 
• Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the Building Surveying discipline

Desirable: 
• Proficient in ICT, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom etc.
