Evans Jones were appointed by Gloucestershire County Council to provide a masterplan for the regeneration of the Blackfriars/Quayside area of the city. We worked with the local councils in preparing documents and visuals of how the redevelopment could look in order to help secure crucial funding from Central Government and GFirst LEP.

Previous attempts had been made to regenerate Blackfriars however these were unsuccessful for a variety of reasons. The potential contamination and archaeological findings were a primary concern. The successful bid for funding enabled extensive site preparations to take place and address these issues, which made Blackfriars more attractive for future developers.

By creating a fly-through visualisation of the area and other accompanying visuals and statements, the council were able to successfully secure a £4.3 million grant from the Government's Growth Deal funding.

You can listen to Councillor Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council, discuss the successful proposal here.

" We asked Evans Jones to come up with a high-level Masterplan and a 3D fly-through visualisation of the proposals which were used in support of a bid to the Government's Growth Deal for just over 4 million pounds. Thankfully this was successful and will enable us to drive forward the regeneration plans. "
