Ashford Borough Council sought to defend an Enforcement Notice for unauthorised development in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The planning appeal was determined following a full Public Inquiry. Evans Jones Ltd acted as Lead Consultant for the Council with responsibility for the production of Proofs of Evidence and liaison with all parties to the appeal.

Within the limited timeline available Evans Jones produced a clear and focused Proof of Evidence. Our planners gave evidence under oath at the Inquiry including liaising with the Council’s appointed Barrister and assisting with cross-examination.
The Results:
After reviewing the persuasive specialist written representation provided by Evans Jones and having listened to the evidence presented during the Public Inquiry, the enforcement notice was upheld in full, and the appellant had to remove the unauthorised structures.
