Cheltenham Borough Council Draft Local Plan open for consultation

Cheltenham Borough Council publishes Draft Cheltenham Plan (2011 to 2031) Issues and Options for public consultation

Evans Jones has successfully obtained planning permission from Forest of Dean District Council for a new supermarket retail unit in Lydney between Newerne Street and Hams Road.

The planning application for the outline proposal approves a store of 13,000 sqft including 100 car parking spaces making it suitable for medium sized supermarkets such as Aldi or Lidl.

The proposed development includes demolition of all the existing buildings on the site currently occupied by Exhaust Tyres and Batteries and a car sales and valeting operation.

A new supermarket in the centre of Lydney will provide new shopping and job opportunities for local residents.

The development will also see improvements to the riverside walk and general environmental improvements within the area.
