Evans Jones claim victory in the LINC Golf Day at Lilleybrook Golf Club on 1st July

On a burning hot day at Lilleybrook Evans Jones claimed victory in the LINC Charity Golf Day.

The day saw the team that won the Pied Piper golf day at Forest Hills earlier in the year re-united to good effect claiming victory by a single point with a Stableford total of 87 points.

The team was led by Ian Eggleton LLP Partner at Evans Jones ably assisted, to differing degrees, by Gloucester Agent and self confessed ‘golf nut’ Simon McKeag of Ash & Co, Tax Expert Nick Haines of Hazlewoods and Property Lawyer and honorary Mexican Paul Engelbrecht of Rickerbys.



Paul was particularly disappointed to miss out on the individual prize with a score of only 24 points. This brought to an end Paul’s run of 3 consecutive individual titles and was the first time he had scored less than 40 points this year.

Highlight of the day was Paul’s drive on the straightest drive hole which went past the stringline in the centre of the fairway. Paul was disappointed not to collect the prize as the drive was still very straight but as it was a full 70 yards beyond the line this should perhaps not have come as a great surprise.

Team Captain Ian Eggleton said “It was great to re-unite the winning team from the Pied Piper day on a positively Tropical day at Lilleybrook. Evans Jones are always keen to support local charities and if we can combine this with a round of golf and a few drinks in good company then even better. Gill and her team should take credit for a very relaxed and enjoyable day and many thanks also to UKKO golf for providing some great prizes.”



Evans Jones continue their support for Local Charities with the innaugural Business in Gloucestershire Golf Society day being held at Gloucester Golf and Country Club on 1st August with proceeds going to the Cotswold Care Hospice.
