Charity Golf Day raises more than £3000 for LINC

Evans Jones helps to raise £3000 for LINC with BIG Golf Day 2009

Evans Jones together with it's partners Lodders Solicitors and Charlton Networks are proud to confirm that the inagural Business in Gloucestershire Golf Day raised £3000 for local charity LINC.

The Golf Day was held at Cirencester Golf Club on 19th May 2009 in what can best be described as ‘challenging conditions’.

Despite the conditions there was a full turn out of 23 teams on the day with waterproofs, umbrellas and stiff upper lips in adundance.

In spite of the elements some great golf was played with the winning team, Avenue Cars making good use of the ‘golden ball’ scoring more than 140 Stableford points beating Dove Construction into second place by more than 20 points.



Individual honours were taken by Paul Engelbrecht who received a suitably rousing reception on his walk up to the presenation after scoring 48 Stableford points. Paul gratefully received his Sombrero, Poncho and little donkey for his trip back through Bandit country.

Lodders' Dale Williams was the proud winner of ‘Player with most room for improvement’ after returning a modest score of 8 Stableford points. Great things are hoped for Dale next year after hours of practice in his back garden with his new swing trainer.

B.I.G are now aiming to launch a Golf Society which will hold events regularly throughout the year in aid of local charities.

The Society will provide a great opportunity to meet local business people in a relaxed atmosphere over a round of golf so please do get involved.
